The Coalition for Adequate School Housing thanks DLR Group for their generous support of the Kindergarten through Community College Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 2016.

Brett Hobza, Principal of DLR Group, stated “DLR Group’s commitment to the needs of California students and school districts is unwavering. Our clients’ district-wide facility master plans continue to identify critical needs that, more often than not, outweigh their available funding sources. After years of deferring maintenance during the recession, the statewide needs are severe, so DLR Group strongly supports this important initiative.”

Kevin Fleming, Associate at DLR Group, said “With no state bond since 2006, DLR Group fully supports the efforts and leadership of the C.A.S.H. organization in this important, necessary and valuable endeavor to assist with funding for California school facilities construction.  It is long overdue and every passing year further compounds the facilities needs of local districts.  We are proud to be a part this historic initiative.”

More on the State School Bond Initiative
C.A.S.H. is pleased to report that the initiative is currently in the process of being verified for the November 2016 State General Election Ballot.  More than 571,000 initiative signatures are being verified and, based on the current sampling, we have every expectation this initiative will qualify no later than October 1, 2015.  When this initiative is passed by the voters:

  • $7 billion will be allocated through the current K-12 State School Facility Program as:
        • $3 billion for K-12 New Construction
        • $3 billion for K-12 Modernization
        • $500 million for Charter Schools
        • $500 million for Career Technical Education
  • $2 billion for Community Colleges which will be administered by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
