C.A.S.H. will once again present a workshop during the California School Boards Association Annual Education Conference. This year’s topic is: Envisioning A New School Facilities Program. The Conference is being held at the San Diego Convention Center, December 3-5, with our workshop on Thursday, December 3 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in Room 1B. Program description: Since 2006, there hasn’t been any state facility bonds. Where do school boards go from here? Is the state’s role changing in funding and regulating school facilities? Is the current situation an opportunity to reinvent the School Facilities Program (SFP?) What is happening currently with the Potential state facility bond initiative? What could the “new” SFP look like if the roles of regulatory agencies are reconstituted and streamlined? What if the local school districts are given new levels of authority and responsibility? A panel of district, county and agency experts will describe their visions for a state program and explore ways to keep facilities program moving forward with confidence that have the partnership with the state, developers, school district and county office of education. Highlight: School boards are responsible for all assets in their districts, having clean and safe school is critical in the learning process, and attracts students and teachers. Not keeping your facilities in good condition now, will cost you long term. In this workshop you will learn:
- How to plan your financial component for your facilities master plan
